Not every stock in this market deserves to take a share price write down, but it is apparent that some covering will take place and most of them will.

There are two things operating here. Some money may leave the market, but it others withdrawn from a falling market may find a haven in stocks that are considered better bets. INMHO, the stocks that have the least rebound are the big PE stocks, the so called quality. Like, er, banks frinstance. The little guys are hurt by withdrawal of liquidity for a while, but they can operate in this regime if they have prospects. Their plight, so to speak, does not change as much. They don't have the support problem magnitude of the larger issuers.
