Just the part longnshort was talking about. Again, Brumar, let's be unbiased about this. What do you do with your home inspection when you buy a new home? If the home inspection doesn't come up with major things, then you use it to send to your bank so you can get the loan. Alot of the items on the inspection either get added to your punch list of things you want the seller to fix or things that you'll fix with an allowance from the seller later on. Most of those items are optional. In fact, in my home buying over my lifetime, the inspection has never come up with something that requires us by law to fix prior to purchasing the home.

The energy audit provisions of this bill for residential home buyers will act in much the same way. Where the real mandates and action is going to be is in NEW construction.

I think you guys are just so caught up in the fear mongering that you are failing to look at the provisions and really see what they say. I'm not defending that bloated bill, but I am pointing out the evidence of your bias.
