MigraTEC Announces an Agreement With Microsoft At NetWorld+Interop
May 09, 2002 08:15:00 AM ET

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2002-- Dallas-Based Company to Provide UNIX-to-Windows Migration Technology and Services to Key Corporate Accounts

MigraTEC, Inc. MIGR, a leading provider of software migration solutions, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Microsoft Corp. MSFT to provide Unix-to-Windows migration services using MigraTEC's 32Direct(TM) solution and migration methodologies.

The announcement took place at Networld+Interop 2002 (N+I), where MigraTEC is exhibiting and demonstrating 32Direct as a featured industry partner and Gold Sponsor in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion.

MigraTEC's unique solutions enable predictable and efficient migration of UNIX applications to Windows, helping corporate users drive lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for their enterprise systems. By combining patented technology with a structured methodology and process, MigraTEC solutions can significantly reduce the risk, time, and cost of application migration.

Under the terms of the agreement, the result of several months of joint effort including pilot projects, MigraTEC will use 32Direct to provide contract migration assessments to Microsoft Consulting Services for projects involving key Microsoft corporate accounts. Microsoft then intends to leverage MigraTEC's technology through the full execution phases of software migration. Delivery of services will begin immediately and is expected to drive significant revenues for MigraTEC.

"We're excited that Microsoft management shares our belief that we can help them and their corporate customers achieve their IT objectives," said Curtis Overstreet, MigraTEC chief executive officer. "This is clearly a key relationship for us, and one that we've worked hard to establish. We'll continue to bring that same level of focus and energy to every engagement with Microsoft's customers, and we believe that as a result, our shareholders will benefit."

"It is gratifying to have the opportunity to participate at this level in an industry event of this magnitude," said Wes Blair, MigraTEC Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The companies represented here are very likely to be interested in migrating their applications to enterprise-class Windows platforms. Our solutions can create significant value for them."

"Microsoft is pleased that MigraTEC is helping to meet the demands of customers migrating from UNIX to Windows," said Doug Miller, director of UNIX migration strategy at Microsoft Corp. "MigraTEC's 32Direct solution is effective for customers wanting to make a smooth transition from UNIX to Windows."

More than 600 industry-leading technology vendors exhibit at Networld+Interop to showcase emerging networking and infrastructure technology. The event is being held May 7-10, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
