UF In case you missed it, during the wtc/pentagon disasters the President authorized the military to shoot down our own planes if the need arose.

Sleeping Gas seems a lot less expensive than Scrambling Fighter Jets, Missile, Collateral Damage in the Aircraft itself and on the Ground as the debris falls, and loss of life. I don't think that the knowledge that if you take a flight and it is hijacked that you would be shot down by our own Military wouId invoke confidence in the traveling public. In addition, I would surmise that a terrorist organization would consider it a "victory for terror" watching our own Military Aircraft shooting down our own Civil Transportation Aircraft. The only way to stop a hijacking is to show that there is no gain to be achieved except waking up behind bars and on Death Row!! Just gas the back of the plane!! Using your ideals.. Maybe they should just have a switch for the Captain to throw that blows up the plane?? That way you can save the cost of Scrambling the Military Fighters and Missile costs?
