Yes. Thousands, including most of whom where in the White House. On the flight that crashed outside Pittsburgh, one or more people using a cell phone were told that a plane had already hit the WTC. That's when they figured that, what the hell, they would probably die anyway as well, so why not go down fighting.

They did. As a result, the plane did not make its target of the White House.
