LOL!! Lee-- Nice to see you here but wish you were trading on my side. Sorry you only became interested due to a problem, I probably would have tried sm claims court on contract breech, I got back in HD @ 24 & change looking for a swing to 26. Still holding,, trailing stop is in.
I still buy there as the price is compat w Lowes and less than the lumber yard on the materials I buy. The lumber both supply is more like uncut kindling! Just odds & ends like insulation & etc. Some things such as int doors are priced the same as LOW but HD quality surpasses. Not certain how long that will go on as HD has opened 2 shops to purchasse direct in China. I dislike S too. I do buy a few handtools and some sale items,, but not much there. Craftsman power tools may be fine for the home workshop but the motors do NOT hold up. That is everything from routers to compound/slider/miter saws. The only (Craftsman) power tool I bought from them that has held up well is a HD Table saw. I've replaced the bearings & belt and it is fine. We will not mention the crap they supplied with it and called it a fence & miter guage. Both were replaced in less than a year.
Yahoo threads--- there are reasons those are called 'The ZOO'. The mntg thread was not bad for some time-- then it went to shit,, same as a small HC stock I used to trade.
As I hobby I build houses. I also buy houses & apt buildings on spec. The houses are remodeled and sold. Apt buildings are tougher as most have renters--- I toss them as I begin the remodel and get higher rents when completed ONLY to sell the bldg when complete. The landlord buss is NOT for me. I cannot deal with some of the renters. I've had some great ones but the few bums are not worth it. Those that are a pain in the neck soon move to a lower position. Materials such as lumber & etc are of better quality and lower price from the lumber yards. You know I get cabinets (Kraftmaid) at hellish low prices. Appliances are the only thing that are a pain & I generally am happy to pay a few bux more at one of the appliance stores that will trans tha warranty to the new owners.
still,, IMO HD owes you at least 50% or $1600!
