This is no joke. I just bought a new Dimension to avoid having to install Windows 98 so I could run AOL 4.0, which won't run on NT. Don't ask why I wanted to run AOL. My wife loves it. nuf said. I had her up and running in fifteen minutes, although I had to type a 30 character garbage string to prove to Bill Gates that Dell did not pirate my copy of Windows. I plan to install Linux secure web server on the old Dimension and play with setting up my own googlebuys.com site, if US West and/or TCI ever deliver on high speed access to my neighborhood :-)

Seriously, I suggest you call Dell support. Thats what they are there for isn't it? Let us know how it goes. I guess we are the consumers they are worried about having to hand hold. On second thought in the interest of reducing expenses for Dell, maybe you could first try asking Dudley.
