InnovaCom's Home Set-Top Box Leader in Testing By Swedish
Communications Groups

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 1997--Extensive testing of InnovaCom's new multimedia set-top
box for home video-on-demand applications is being conducted by Telia and Ellemtel, Sweden's major communications
organizations, for use throughout that country in the near future.

Initial test results place it at the forefront of products under consideration, according to spokesmen for the Swedish companies.

Telia and Ellemtel are developing home terminals that will receive compressed video signals via its ASDL (Assymetric Digital
Subscriber Line) four-million-subscriber telephone system, and deliver Internet, DVD, satellite TV and videoconferencing
capabilities using the InnovaCom set-top system.

Test results indicate InnovaCom is up to 12 months ahead of any competitive designs according to the two companies. Bertil
Yuling, Ellemtel marketing analyst, said InnovaCom's set top box was a leading contender among the companies developing the
terminal. Final selection should be announced in 90 days.

The Santa Clara, Calif., company is a designer and producer of MPEG-2 integrated circuits for a wide variety of television
applications. InnovaCom also indicated that while the testing for the Telia-Ellemtel products were moving ahead, testing of its
set-top boxes with Lap Power, another Swedish company, was continuing as part of a recently announced agreement. Thanks, Tim
