Maybe the reason, sure seemed like some irregular trading over the last day and a half.

Imagine making a $1,000 investment on your house and increasing its value by $300,000. This is what happened overnight in the S&P. Be careful because these moves can be a mirage
Overnight, S&P went up by 1.5%. At $47 trillion market cap, this is a whopping increase of $700 billion in value. But this happened at extremely low volumes!
This was accomplished via a purchase of just over 100K futures contracts or $1.5B. So, for a $1.5B investment, the market is up $700B. This is why this may be a mirage and a play among a few big players.

S&P Mirage?
