>>The biblical pronouncements of God creating the Word is really not too far off.

The Logos (Word) is the active agent of God in Greek philosophy; the English is misleading, because we have no direct cognate concept. "Logos" is used in the opening verses of John and describe the creation of the world by the Creator, the Word. The quote is really "The Word was God"; the debates over the Arian heresy revolved around the eternal and un-created nature of "the Logos".

being accepted into heaven.

Protestant theology denies that any deed, altruistic or otherwise, will get you to heaven. Good deeds are just good deeds, and God ain't particularly impressed. Sola Gratia, Sola Fide; works may work somewhat in Catholicism, but in Protestant theology they don't count. You do them out of altruism, not for brownie points.
