We love Tobermory and spend a few days there at least once per year, often twice. Even went during a moment of freedom last year during the pandemic but the restrictions made it unlike any other time there. We spent a week there, in a motel, in June. Hiked the trail on Flowerpot Island as well as the trails in Cypress Lake National Park and took the Sunset Cruise along the Georgian Bay shoreline among other explorations. You found the right word - Idyllic. Short trips are keeping us semi sane while the pandemic hopefully plays itself out.

Used to be that we wanted one of those huge RV land yachts but no more. A small self drive unit or a smallish pop up trailer will suit now and we'll likely get one or the other next year. Tenting still has an appeal but we'd need to buy everything all over again and at 68 I don't see us doing that anymore. On top of which we need air conditioning during these increasingly hot summers.
