I'm one who liked today's Barron's article on Greenblatt's methodology. Some academic sniping or jealousy maybe, but overall, a confirming nod that the formula has worked.

I liked the discussion about how data analyis problems might have skewed the results and the cautionary notes why the formula might not work in certain markets or future timeperiods.

As far as the representative stocks mentioned, I'll look closer at GIB. Maybe KMG also.

I have KSWS on my watch list, but can't bring myself to buy any. I bought a little FCX on a recent dip. Ditto UST. Not enough shares of either though to make a difference in my portfolio. Other stocks mentioned I either have bought before 2006 or I have no interest in now because they don't look like bargains to me on financial ratios I like to see.
