[Amati's cable modems]

<<<why has so little attention been given on these threads to this technology with reagards to cable companies. Secondly, do you believe this could generate big revenues for AMATI in the future?>>>

Susan --

Excellent question. I asked RC about this about a month ago and he said they're not focusing on it right now and I can only surmise it has to do with the fact wired-line modems are more in demand than cable. If you read the press carefully, you'll see nearly every cable company pulling back because of exorbitant costs. If the market for cable modems develops, I'm sure Amati will be there.

It wouldn't hurt to call the company periodically and see if their position has changed. As RC often says, "That side of the house doesn't speak to this side." :)

Regards,

Pat
