"Someone has to explain CMTN's plummet to me. They look healthy to me. I'm almost tempted to buy, but hate trying to catch bottoms."
Impossible to catch the bottom Kev. If you are an investor, then you stay invested and add to " good" positions as they move south, (dollar cost averaging ensures that you will be there for the rebound). If this is your job, hmmm, might reconsider, but IF it is then you may want to start small positions in your favorite companies that are beaten down. I DO like CMTN but I don't recommend going heavy in this mkt just yet. As I mentioned earlier, techs in general are in a down swing here, (SEPTEMBER BLUES) and while yes you may miss the absolute bottom, let the mkt tell you when it is done selling. Could be a day or two of consecutive positive NAZ days. Another method Daytraders use is buying just before the close, then when your companies GAP up, sell or raise stops to protect your principal. Watch to see with in the first half hour, if it breaks your initial purchase price, if it does, negative sign, if it doesn't, that could be the turning point. If you didn't stop out, raise 2 -3 pt trail and be happy, if you did, buy back and repeat.... Hope this helps... Lata all.. |
