I would see the latter as possible intelligent business diversivication.

Conglomerates are out of fashion now. I think you see more smart businesses selling off their cats and dogs to focus on their core business and getting out of business lines where they're not either number one or two in market share. I think that would be even smarter for an influence group.

A while back, E was talking about Amnesty International and getting some grief from the pro-lifers because AI doesn't include abortion as a human rights violation. E explained how AI focused on those human rights abuses they could all agree on and were more effective for doing so. I think that's smart of AI.

For every marginal line of business NOW gets into, it loses, not gains supporters because all the marginal issues have detractors. They might be able to get away with it if they did it with a big-tent attitude, but rather they seem to see their full agenda as the correct model for women. I think they do themselves and their core causes a disservice.
