I have just come aboard SI and was delighted to stumble onto an Israeli stocks board. I worked twice in Israel (1973-75 and 1988-90) but didn't get involved in the market there until about 10 years ago. With some good luck, I bought ECILF and BTGC, which I still hold, as well as TEVA and Converse, which I should have held, and SCITEX, which I did sell. I have bought, sold and bought back perhaps another dozen Israeli stocks. I am not a chartist or techie but try to follow the ups-and-downs of the Israeli market. Without anything but my own empirical observation to go on, I tend to think there is considerable manipulation and insider activity in much of the market. In any event, it's something like a craps shoot. I guess that's what keeps me in it. But on balance, I've done well by it, using instinct more than knowledge.

NB: I most appreciate Ms. Timna's postings.
