TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1999--APC Telecommunications (OTC Bulletin Board:APCI) APC Telecommunications, Inc., a Canadian controlled company publicly trading as (OTCBB - Symbol APCI), has signed an agreement with the Sunnybrook Jewish Chapel Fund (SJC) to act as an official sales agent for APC's unique long distance services. APC Telecommunications markets traditional long distance telephone services, offering a Guaranteed Lowest Rate (GLR(tm)) package.
In announcing the program Michael Earle, Chairman, SJC Special Fundraising Committee said: "Our people are constantly being asked to give and they do so generously. This is an innovative opportunity to ensure that they get something back while they give. Every individual and business makes long distance phone calls. They want long distance savings. Now they can get them and contribute to a worthy cause at the same time."
Rabbi Barry Schneider of Sunnybrook Synagogue, appealed to the Jewish community: "By choosing to make APC your long distance telephone provider you will be reducing the cost of your long distance phone bills, while helping to support the activities of our Synagogue at Sunnybrook. Our goal is to enhance the programs we presently offer to our veterans, patients and their family members. We are pleased to recommend this opportunity to our community."
In entering into the agreement the Sunnybrook Jewish Chapel fund recognized a 'no lose' way to raise money for good deeds while providing donors with the value-added benefit of the lowest long distance rates available. Under the terms of the undertaking APC has appointed the Sunnybrook Jewish Chapel Fund as exclusive agent in marketing its services to some 450,000 households in the Jewish Community in Ontario. As part of this association, the SJC will receive funding on an ongoing basis. SJC will enlist support from 350 other Jewish community associations offering them the opportunity to share in the fund-raising program. For every new customer that is signed, the SJC will give back to the signing association never less than 50 percent of all monies rebated through those billings.
