Your observation is correct for 1998 and 1999 but not for 1997. In 1997, INTC peaked in early August (just under 25 split-adjusted) and then started to drop in the fall. It did not reach that level again until November 1998 over a year later. It did get pretty close to the peak at the end of Feb though, although it couldn't quite pierce it.

I hope we see the 98/99 pattern this year rather than 97.
