that's been something I always wondered about, is "new" always more secure? When Win10 came out, they claimed and everyone parroted it was more secure. My first thought, was " how can it be more secure?"
My logic: Win10 was just released, the hackers had just began to look for vulnerabilities while Win7 had been out for so long, you'd think the hackers had already found any and every vulnerability. Bad logic on my part?

I think they killed off WinXP with the HTML5 stuff, I think that's when I was forced to go to Win7. Ive been using Linux since I grabbed a Redhat box from Best Buy when we were all doing Win98 "clean installs" once a month....those were the days......lol
