David: Thanks for finding this post on G* GSM phones.

Let us hope. For the religious among us, let us pray.

This seems like the good news, bad news drill

The good news. ETSI has approved software (allegedly)

Bad. The only phone available was "non approved".

The good news. Phones are being "produced".

Bad. No info at all on that "production"

The good news. Phones will be "available in places selling regular GSM phones"

Bad. No info on how operators get their hands on them to sell them, let alone how buyers get them

But at least, maybe, perhaps, some phones possibly are available now, or at least may be in the not too distant future.

Doesn't seem like G* is of any priority at all to Ericsson.

And the amazing thing is that G* using GSM doesn't seem to be any kind of a priority to Loral or Globalstar either.

No evidence that G* management is even interested, let alone pushing for G* GSM phone delivery anytime soon.

Hard to believe that G* has any active management at all.

Best.

Chaz
