Eric,

100 to 250 kbps average TP for the sector with Release 0?

Yup, as a matter of fact, throughput wise there's no difference between Rev0 and Rev A. Although RevA can give higher peak rate to one particular user. In Rev A it is more flexible and efficient to allocate different data rate to a user. As a result RevA should be more powereful in optimizing the whole system.

That’s just what I need - trying to surf at 9:15 in the evening with my wife and all my neighbors and all the students in the sorority and fraternity houses in my sector all talking on their free Verizon minutes.

Similar to my Cable modem at night when the speed will go down as more people are online.

Same thing will happen with your LAN, even with your ADSL, the load of your ISP can still be the bottleneck. Sometimes it is the web server kept you waiting, sometimes it might be just your PC.

I really don't know what to expect from 1xRTT in the early going

To users like you and me who are used to high speed stuff it may not be up to our expectation yet. But I believe it should be very much comparable to, if not better than, those who are used to 56k dialup. DO will be a great help to change that.
