ajtj: The Tech sales/income were not affected when rates were raised and they are not likely to be affected when they decline.
The future of the Techs is tied to the Internet and that in turn is tied to the Telecom service Cos. The fact is that the Telecom debt is horrendous and the business model flawed. The model is flawed for two reasons viz Excess installed capacity and Declining rates due to competition. Interest rates cannot address those issues. Nearly 50% of the Tech revenue is tied to Telecom service in some way.

The issues holding down the Service sector have not been addressed. Until that happens, this rally will likely have no legs. We need to see far more Chapter 11 and M&A avtivity in the service sector to get balance between supply and demand.

When that happens , TECHs will have a good base for the next cycle of broadband expansion.
