Thursday at Infinite Loop

Yes, there will be updated iPads. Perhaps there will be an announcement of an iPad Plus to be shipped next year, but I think probably not. Even though such a thing will probably come about then.

Yes, there will probably be updated Macs. iMacs likeliest, maybe Mac minis, but these days Macs are marginal to Apple's bottom line, so unless it's a total refresh like the most recent Mac Pro, that won't be a primary focus.

Yes, Apple Pay will probably get flagged as imminent, if not unleashed upon a willing world forthwith.

Yes also to iOS 8.1 and OS X Yosemite, either right then or … shortly. That's a lot of stuff already, but ...

... this is all housekeeping, updates of products that are already currency. I think Thursday's main event will be Apple TV. The first thing I noticed about the " It's been way too long" official invitation was that it featured the same six colors, in the same sequence, that were Apple's logo for so many years.

Others have speculated similarly.

Because, yes, it really has been ( roughly) That Long since Apple took a serious swing at television.

10+ years ago (12 years, I think) I described the sort of 'ware stack that Apple is finally, 10+ years later, teasing. I created this board because I recognized that Apple was finally going to release what I was describing then as a not-too-distant objective.

Tomorrow I think this long-gestating future gets revealed.

What comes next comes … later.
