The cards were sorted in another big machine, and the tape drives were the size of refrigerators. The main frames were isolated in a special room that was about the size of a cafeteria. The iPhone probably has more computing power than the 360.

My job was to load the cards into the reader, then I'd back up all the data on the tape drives. After all that was done, I'd run reports for each department, deliver them, go to the cafeteria for breakfast, then I'd take a nap until it was quitting time.
