suppliers to provide N TT with gene ral referential information on similar
products or technology prior to procu rement of the intended product
(mentioned below) by NTT. This public notice is also to request that any
suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontrac tor in the procurement
program of this product should declare their intentio ns to that effect.
This public notice is not intended to guarantee public n otification of
procurement of the product. (1) Name:Metallic Cable Transmis sion Equipment
(HDSL etc.) (2) Overview: This product is composed of Terminal-side equipment
and Cente r-side equipment, and intended for use in bidirectional symmetrical
transmis sion of 1.5 Mbps signals via copper cables in the subscriber line
section. T he main functions of this product are shown below. 1) This product
is capab le of transmitting 1.544 Mbps signals provided under the TTC standard
JT-I43 1/JT-I431-a 2) For testing purpose, each of Terminal-side equipment
and Center-side equ ipment has loopback function, which is performed by remote
control through the personal computers or the like. 3) For fault detection
purpose, each o f Terminal-side equipment and Center-side equipment can detect
and indicate equipment and circuit faults, and this fault information is also
collected and displayed by the personal computers or the like. 4) The supplier
can pr epare, as an optional equipment, repeaters for transmission distance
extensi on purpose. (3) Contents of
RFI: NTT is inviting the following types of in formation on a product or
technology similar to the above-mentioned system. This is not, however, a
request for suppliers to provide proprietary and/or confidential information,
(i) Technical information Product technical infor mation pertaining to
descriptions in the 'Overview of Product' section above (product catalog(s),
system configuration examples, etc.)., (ii) Price and i ts terms and
conditions Based on concept of unit pricing and volume discoun t pricing ,
(iii) Standard delivery period after an order is placed , (iv)S ales results
Yearly sales performance, market share, etc. for the previous t hree years ,
(v)Others 1)Product features, failure response system, maintena nce support
system, etc. 2)Positive information you believe will be useful f or NTT's
business 3)Information of products (xDSL) using the metallic transmission
method whic h is similar with HDSL. (4) Request for Declaration of the
Intention of Par ticipating as a Subcontractor: Any suppliers wishing to
participate as a sub contractor in the product procurement program of NTT,
are requested to suppl y NTT with the information listed below. After
preparing a list of supplied information, NTT will provide the list to
suppliers who wish to be provided with it, to those who have responded to the
request for supply of the inform ation listed and to those who have purchased
the PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTATION r elating to procurement of the product. NTT,
however, will undertake no resp onsibilies for any outcomes arising from supply
of the list, (i)Name of supp lier, (ii)Place of contact (Address, name of the
person in charge, telephone number, and fascimile number). (5) Deadline of
submission of materials and comments: 3:00 PM, March 31, 1997 (Mail must
arrive no later than the above date). (6) Language: Japanese or English*****
