Contrast "win with any costs", the Rovian message, with "no red America, no blue America, just the United States of America" and see which one wins national campaigns nowadays. It would be good for the Reps to run a Sarah-Newt ticket in 2012 and get their butts kicked. The rest of the party could finally say RIP to the Atwater-Rove era and move on. Maybe there is another genuine Reagan out there waiting in the wings with the actual political gift of leadership and inspiration instead of just gutter-punching instincts.
