But no matter how wrong it was, it was NOT the equivelent of bank robbery.

What's the difference? White collar crime is never prosecuted to the same extent as blue collar crime. Is it any less ethical?


The main difference is that bank robbery usually includes violence, or threats of violence, and the resulting fear and sometimes terror among the customers and staff of the bank.

Another difference is that the money is bigger in stock scams. How often do you hear about a multi-million dollar bank robbery? But securities frauds are measured in tens and sometimes hundreds of millions of dollars!
