Is EFAX the only one offering basic FREE service? Seems like they are trying to do the portal advertising route then to make money?

JFAX costs a lot more but does more. Seems like each service does something.

Without doing a lot of DD, looks like entry is easy but each is trying to do a particular niche.

If EFAX is successful with its approach, give it away but get advertising, then how tough will it be for one of the other entrants to do the same.

Now for a technical question? Is there an advantage to sending a fax through EFAX vs. the free program provided in Windows 98. I guess one advantage is that you don't have to disconnect from the internet.
