Our old pals at Whittaker going private... From WSJ- Whittaker, Simi Valley, Calif., rose 2 15/16 to 16 on the Big Board after this newspaper reported that one of the shareholders of the aerospace-parts company made an unsolicited $208 million offer to take the company private. The company, which has bounced back to profitability this year after six quarters of losses, has said in the past that it would consider a merger or outright sale to a strategic buyer. Hmmm. Web
