Carbon Black Test Results are in: biz.yahoo.com Titan Technologies Announces Milestone
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Ronald L. Wilder, President of Titan Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TITT - news) sent a letter to the Titan shareholders informing them of the following information concerning their corporation.
-- Titan has successfully activated the carbon produced from its TRTM tire recycling plant. This is a major accomplishment that has taken many years of research and development. Until now, Titan has never been in a position to assure prospective licensees that there is a definitive market for the 50,000 pounds of carbon produced daily from each plant. Today Titan can confidently give such assurances.
-- Titan has identified huge and growing markets that the activated carbon can supply. One such market is the absorption of mercury from flue gasses emitted by coal fired power plants. A market study shows that supplying just 10% of the activated carbon to the coalfired power plants in the US would require eight Titan recycling plants each processing 100 tons of scrap tires daily. Tests and market analysis were independently performed at the University of Illinois, Illinois State Geological Survey by Dr. Massoud Rostam Abadi. Titan's activated carbon will do a better job of absorption than any other carbon used for this purpose.
-- Thousands of communities use activated carbon in their waste water treatment facilities. Titan's activated carbon has been tested and compared with the two leading carbon suppliers and in most aspects, tested better than the other two.
-- Of special significance to Titan will be the implementation of a National Energy Policy. The recommendations to Congress, from the United States Energy Association, will include funding and tax incentives for renewable energy. Other recommendations that will, no doubt, be included in the Policy will be drilling for oil in Alaska, offshore drilling, new power plants, expand mining coal reserves, wind generation etc. all will probably be vigorously opposed by environmentalists, as they have been in the past. Titan's patented, proven recycling process not only can clean up dumps and landfills, but can produce valuable energy in the process and should be applauded by conservation and environmental groups.
Mr. Wilder said that, ``The only problem with 'Right Timing' is that sometimes you have a long wait for the timing to be Right. It has been a long time coming, but consider what has happened during the wait. Titan started with an idea and we have taken that idea through all the research and development to a patented process that has been proven commercially viable and environmentally safe. The process, as it exists today, has expanded to include plastics, electronic parts and other waste streams. In the future additional waste streams may also be included.''
