<<Its better than nothing.>> It is equivalent to yelling at a person who can't hear. The normal voice doesn't accomplish what we want so let's be louder. No gain. Worse, the impression that it solves the problem, blocks us from going to learn sign language, and attempting other strategies. Our education system is getting poorer and poorer results each decade. The world is changing and the education system is not keeping up with that change.
