In watching CNBC this last week or two, they now make analysts do a disclosure on the air. They ask them if they have an investment banking relationship NOW wiht the stock. What they need to ask is if that company is trying to win an investment banking postion with the company. In T case, most big Investment banking firms are trying to impress T to get a part of the breakup fees from IPOs. This is the main reason they are "upgrading" the stock.
