Since 1999 came in, the most exciting news I've heard on Bid.Com was mentioned last night. It seems like most of these Internet e-commerce auction companies have high valuations. A company like VERT with a market cap 170 times their 1998 revenue? "and Bid.Com with a market cap less than 15 times 1998 revenue". Can you imagine the price of Bid.Com if they were to receive a market cap on the Nasdaq of 170 times their 1998 revenue!!!!!!! What we need to look into now, is how come VERT was granted by the Nasdaq shareholders such a high valuation.??? VERT hit a high today of approx. US$100.00/share (Cdn.$150.00/share). However they achieved it, I would say they got it in a hurry, in a matter of months. I doubt their 1998 revenue topped EBAY at US$47 million. When you consider it, even that's quite low but I can accept the fact that it will skyrocket over 1998.---Even in the Financial Post this morning it quoted Mr. Paul Godin as saying "we will get better analyst coverage and hopefully HIGHER VALUATION" when they move on the Nasdaq. Looking into these internet E-commerce companies with HIGH VALUATIONS cannot be stressed enough. It's the most important thing for Bid.Com shareholders to have a handle on going into the Nasdaq.
