Yep - the P6 core - designed in 1993/1994 with a 1995 release date - is near the end of its practical speed range - despite the 0.13 micron process.

In stark contrast, the Pentium 4 architecture blazes past 1.6 GHz on the current 0.18 micron process - and it should do even better on the newer 0.13 micron Copper process.
