Do you think that the DVD drives described here pose a threat to Sandisks products: biz.yahoo.com

Why would it?

No, halodata.com would be more of a 'threat' (250Mb disc in a CF 1 size package) if it ever
1) saw the light of day
2) was cheap enough
3) didn't use much power
4) was reliable enough

I suspect that none of the above (1-4) will be true through, especially 2-4. By the time these guys and related ones get their act together, CF will have dropped in price, their cost of manufacture won't, and rotating media has got to be hundreds of times less reliable than no moving parts. Especialy media that will be constantly spinning up and down (to conserve energy) and getting a good jolting around (relatively speaking).
