"There needs to be at least $250K jobs added a month for several years to make a dent in Obama's unemployment..."

I have heard financial commentators say the same. We are averaging 400K initial jobless claims each week. I don't understand why 250K job creation would reduce the unemployment rate. It looks to me that we would have a net loss of 150K jobs a week. Maybe someone could explain what I am missing.
