Well Thank you David:, it would work and like the Big Macs, or
KFCs..the units could be any size..and more than just one to a town,
the standards would have to be the same via T1 lines,
AOL..would be the middle man..setting the standards..and seeing
that some uniform code was carried out..but give the franchisee some
independent leeway..as long as he makes the code..and let all
equiment be bought via AOL..lot of planing would have to go into
it..but most employess would then be the responsibility of the local
invester..AOL could handle the billing and collecting to customers or clients, but pay each frnchise a percentage by the amount of traffic that originated with them, as a tracking program could tally out
your royality..like a royality in reverse..that way AOL users on the
road could call the closest node..( as they do now )..but these nodes
would be manged by people with a stake in the operation..
AOL will not buy into this, but if some one does they will be the
future..Big Mac of the internet world..you need some central control,
but AOLs is to heavy..and when you need a service rep. you get the local, number..not a 1-800..you got a guy who has a vested intrest
in getting you on line..a sign up premium also to the local node
who brings in a customer..such as that..lots of ways to skin the
cat but what they are doing now is going to put them under..
if the best they can do is shoot themselves in the foot ( like
they been doing ) they better start learning some new tricks,
I'd send all managers to Big Macs managing school before I'd let em touch a key board..
