Y2K DIRECTIONS
This past week there were 4 Y2K stocks with more than 5% gains(SEEC,KEA,CHRZ,CBSL) and 5 with more than 5% losses (VIAS,ISLI,ZITL,CACI,ANLY). VIAS and ZITL made new 52 week lows.It certainly appears that despite significantly more visibility in TV media investors are very selective in supporting Y2K stocks in the current risk averse market we are in. The market internals clearly weakened last week and more pain is likely before Y2K stocks find strong support. My own IMRS dominated portfolio had all the gains in the first four days wiped out on Friday as there was very little institutional buying of IMRS on Friday on a weak volume day.I expect however IMRS will finish on option Friday close to this weeks high of 27 as the volume charts this past week suggest the momentum is in a positive direction.
