BARON GOLD NEWS RELEASE, August 7, 1997 DRILL PROGRAM UNDERWAY Further to our news release issued several weeks ago the company has retained Durfeld Geological Management Ltd. to spearhead the ongoing exploration of the Strebe Gold property. Durfeld Geological have visited the Strebe property, located near the Tillicum Gold Camp in the headwaters of Caribou Creek, 20 miles south of Nakusp, BC. Baron has done preliminary evaluation based on previous work on this property and is mobilizing equipment to be on the property by the 14th of this month. It is estimated that drilling will commence by the 20th of August. Previous work has drill indicated and inferred reserves on this property at 75,000 ounces of gold. When the program was discontinued several years ago by other parties this property was left with enormous potential to increase these reserves. Our drill program will resume on the old drill site.
