Other than the interaction between the characters, my favorite aspect of the show is the dialogue.

Many lines, especially Mal's, seem like cowboy poetry.

A couple of favorite quotes that reveal the subversive nature of the show:

Mal, on relying on a higher power, "That's a long wait for a train don't come."

Mr. Universe on the news, "There is no news, there's only the signal. There's the puppet show foisted by the Parliament jesters on a somnambulent public."
