Firstly, I did see that relay race. It was a replay, but I still found it a thrill. Yes, the Jamaicans have certainly done extremely well, considering the size of their nation and population. But there again, I believe they’ve spent a lot of time and resources on their sports men and women, and it’s certainly paid off. They’ve put larger nations “to the sword”.
So you find the female volleyball outfits “offensive, sexist and demeaning”.
Well …. one shouldn’t get in the way of another’s opinion, freely expressed. So I certainly shan’t. I’ve found that one can come unstuck doing that !
Just an observation …. the outfits, whatever their size and shape, are covering what … ? What they are covering is a creation, created by a Source that can not create anything that is not perfect in its essence. We have come to view the world around us, and its contents, from many and varied reference points. That variance produces diverse opinions which can produce diverse conclusions, which can result in “Propriety”. And what is Propriety to one may not be Propriety to another.
But nevertheless, the Olympics are always great, in my opinion. They often bring out the best in people, especially when we see how the winners and losers interact with each other, and how each rejoices in the achievements of the other.
What a pity that we don't see that spilling over, more often, into many other areas of societies. |
