So many ufo claims involve crashed ships - which I find totally unbelievable. As for visiting, I find that very unlikely as well given distances - I doubt we're all that interesting to go to such lengths to get here. An UN-aliened probe of some sort would be my best guess as to any first contact with an intelligent alien species.That said - yes of course they could go undetected I'm sure - but why? After making the effort to get here and then snap a few pictures and go home seems odd - regardless of the "prime directive". :-)

PS: Even more realistic in my mind would be some form of radio contact even before a probe let alone in alien visitation.
