Keith, I do not know why the stock is depressed and neither does the CFO. I fortunately bought it close to the low and have a nice profit right now.

They will make their money on royalities as well as selling the OS and tools to folks that are manufacturing digital boxes and need real time functionality. One of the reasons I bought the company when I did was MOT (our friend :-)) has taken a stake and options for more, in the company and is going to use their OS in their next generation digital cell phones. MOT also has a person on their board of directors. Their RTOS is also being used in IBM's set top boxes as well as other companies products. They have a site on the www at:

microware.com

This is a good site and will give you a run down on their products, financials, customers and analysts that cover the company to contact for recommendations.

As far as I can tell their competition is WIND and INTS. INTS does not seem to have the marketing culture to transition from the DoD environment to Commercial. During my research WIND seems to have some quality problems. Never seem to get their software out of beta and poor customer support. But as far as the street is concerned WIND seems to be the darling. MWAR has ISO 9000 certification for software so this will force them to deliver software not vaporware.

Lucient also has a RTOS, but as far as I know they are not selling it to the public, just for internal use.

There are threads at SI on these companies.

Joan
