Insider buying: If you already own a couple million QCOM shares, and if you have unexercised options, you probably are not going to be a major buyer at this level. I can see where an officer or director (or the trusts for their beneficiaries) would want to diversify, irrespective of whether the stock is a bargain.

i totally agree. in fact, i said basically the same thing the other day (and of course i was attacked for saying it, because people like to shoot the messenger).

For one thing, we know that a lot of investment funds are remaining in Treasuries, money market funds, or safe havens--stocks with a reasonably high yield and little downside risk

Art, mutual funds are at very low cash levels--mid single digits (5.3% in April, up from 4% at the peak of the bubble). in real bear markets, mutual fund cash levels get up into the low double digits. e.g., cash equivalents hit 12.9% in 1990. these numbers alone are pretty convincing evidence that the mania is nowhere near over, and Darfot is going to give the bulls a lot more tough love going forward.
