My comment was in jest, of course. I saw a map of average worker hours by country somewhere recently. It showed that Americans are working more hours per year than Canadians or Western Europeans.

But the consumption of resources and capital per capita in the USA is way out proportion to the rest of the world. I don't understand why the rest of the world, Canada included, keeps sending us so much stuff.
