CL, it helps to know the differences since the cost associated with various processes differ quite a lot. If parting is simply gravitational directly from the ore, it is relatively cheap, if feasible. If parting means using ion exchange technology on high pressure liquid chromatography columns, then we are talking at least few hundred bucks an ounce (quite acceptable for pharmaceutical, but on the margin for precious metals).

Similarly, if electroplating involves the direct plating of minority constituents (such as gold and PGM), then it is a very low cost process, probably under $10/ounce. However, if the plating involves plating out the majority impurities then the cost could go to $100/ounce or more of the minority components (what we call the "Goodies". Knowledge never hurt. When people hide that knowledge, they imply they have other things to hide as well.
