One post here made me inclined to look deeper into this religious history.

Going by the overall results of all the deities, prophesies, proclamations, and shalt not wherefores it
appears mankind would have been better off to have kept it simple with a nice understandable assortment of Greek Gods and Goddesses to run things.
Since religion seems to be changing and moving all the time it does seem wise to keep it out of Government and politics since we have a much better feel for good versus bad governments based upon past results.
In looking for agreement on a better world order or behavior, the various religious persuasions have extreme difficulty agreeing amongst themselves, much less with another order.
And another Charleston Heston could come along at any minute and promise some country the land belonging to another.
