TEJEK,

Up front, let me state I'm an investor in both AMD and RAMBUS. I'm no patent expert, but the RAMBUS patent issue seems strikingly similar to UNOCAL's reformulated gasoline patent which is on appeal at the US supreme court. UNOCAL patented efforts out of an industry consortium similar to JEDEC and their patents have been upheld all the way to the top and are expected to add 5 to 6 cents per gallon. For those hoping that because RAMBUS was part of a consortium, their patents can be invalidated, I wouldn't hold my breath. If they lose, the result may likely center on the technical issues.

For what its worth,

Jim
