I've downloaded some of those books and they are impressive, especially the ones by Pearson; they completely put the stuff at Kno to shame, and at a fraction of the price! Jobs would have been proud. I hope this model catches on as it will turn the textbook industry on its head and make the iPad even stickier -- the interface is very slick and thoughtful, the graphics are beautiful, and everything just flows, making reading a real pleasure (yes, even if it's a textbook). I'm not sure if the Fire, given its poor specs, can deliver the same experience -- Hah!

Those who gripe about Apple requiring exclusivity when it comes to selling books created with its free textbook authoring application should just not use it. Why should Apple develop free tools to help the likes of amazon and Android? Here's a newsflash: Apple is a business, not a charity! Let the competition develop their own tools. I'd like to see likes of Google and Samesong come up with something even remotely close.
