Thanks for the links.... Actually, I strongly supports US intervention in Africa. Too bad Powell got his hands full with the Middle East, Afghanistan, and whatnot. As I said in previous posts, (Central) Africa really is the soft underbelly of the TransAtlantic alliance. And I can't wait for the day when US troops will be dispatched all over, say, Congo (RDC) WITHOUT a single European platoon on the side. Think about it: if the current US-led nation-building in Afghanistan is any guide, when the US will take care of Africa, it's gonna rely exclusively on LOCAL auxiliaries --with the exception of the UK. That will be a watershed, I can tell you! The French and their Belgian attendant will never forgive the US for denying them a piece of the action in Central Africa --"their" Central Africa...
